Go Sail Montana Opens for the 2025 Boating Season on Flathead Lake

The 2025 boating season on Flathead Lake kicked off today for Go Sail, and we still have some summer availability for ASA sailing courses and sailing tours! New for this year, we are now offeringdiagram sunset charters and daily guided kayak tours to Wild Horse Island. Sailors will want to reserve their spots soon, as many dates are already fully booked through July!

Enjoy ideal sailing conditions on Flathead Lake all season long—you can expect winds from 8-15 knots most days from May into September. As the owner of Go Sail Montana says, “Life is short, sail as much as you can! We made the decision to offer extended hours with sunset cruises this summer so our customers can spend even more time out on Flathead Lake during the 2025 boating season.”

Go Sail Montana has sailboat rentals, ASA courses, and kayak tours for Flathead Lake locals and visitors of the nearby Glacier National Park and beyond. Now, for the first time, in addition to our popular 3-hour day cruise, you can see the beautiful scenery of the Mission Mountains lit up by the brilliant colors at dusk on the brand new Sunset Tour. If you reserve a spot, you’ll meet the captain of the sailboat 15 minutes prior to departure and then embark on a 3-hour sail around Flathead Lake. All lifejackets are included in the cost of the sunset charter. Feel free to BYOB and pack snacks for the evening cruise!

Just in time for the 2025 sailing season, you can book a guided kayak tour of the wildlife and mountain views around Wild Horse Island through Go Sail Montana. Children ages 10 and up and adults up to 350 pounds can paddle out with an expert guide on a 2.5-hour kayak tour. Because you can only get to this remote island by boat, the Wild Horse Island kayak tour allows you to access areas around Flathead Lake that most people never get to see. Birdwatchers and nature photographers should keep an eye out for ospreys, bald eagles, and bighorn sheep.

When you choose a sailing course, sunset charter, or Wild Horse Island kayak tour, remember that spring and summer weather can be unpredictable. We can work with you to find an alternative date in the event that your sailing adventure is postponed due to wind, rain, or thunderstorms.
