Where can I dock, store, or launch my boat for the season?
Go Sail Montana is located right next to Dayton Yacht Harbor and the Dayton Public Boat Launch. You can contact the harbor at (406) 849-5423 for docking and dry storage options.
Other boat launches around Flathead Lake can be found at Kearney Rapids, Somers, Elmo, and Yellow Bay.
Do you have any boats for sale? Where can I sell my boat?
We are not involved in selling sailboats. We recommend you contact Dayton Yacht Harbor for information on local boats for sale. Another option is to look at online marketplaces for buying and selling sailboats throughout the US.
What weather apps do you recommend checking before sailing on Flathead Lake?
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is one of the best places to get weather forecasts. Predict Wind, SailFlow, and Windy are other great apps to use. Additionally, you can call Go Sail Flathead Lake before you set sail to ask us for an update on the weather conditions on the lake.
How do I meet other sailboat owners on Flathead Lake?
One of the best ways to meet other sailboat owners on Flathead Lake is by attending races or joining Go Sail Flathead Lake ASA courses! The sailing community is tight knit on the Flathead but also very welcoming to newcomers. Schedule yourself in for an ASA course or join the South Flathead Yacht Club for a laid back Saturday race!
What months can I sail on Flathead Lake?
The sailing season is somewhat dependent on weather. If you are willing to bundle up on your sailboat, you can likely start as early as May and sail through September. If you are more of a fair weather sailor then June, July, and August present the best conditions for sailing.
