Experience required to explore Flathead Lake without a captain! You must know how to safely handle the Capri 22 without assistance, certifications not req but recommended.

The best wind is 10–15 knots out of the east on high pressure days—blue skies and light white fluffy clouds. The best sailing on Flathead Lake is in the bay between the Dayton shoreline, Wild Horse Island, and Big Arm Bay.

There are no public docks on any of the islands. You can anchor and swim into the shore. There is a swimming ladder off the back of your boat.

We have 9-foot sit-on kayaks and 11.6-foot Drift stand-up paddle boards. The best paddling is in June to August on days when the weather is nice. The best conditions are on days with high pressure when the sky is blue and there are light white fluffy clouds. Paddling on Flathead Lake is in the bay between the Dayton shoreline, Cromwell Island, and Wild Horse Island State Park. If you want to go to Skeeko Bay on Wild Horse Island State Park you should calculate 4–5 hours (full-day rental).
