Flathead Valley New Year’s Eve festivities never disappoint, offering postcard-worthy winter landscapes and lively parties. Whether you want to spend the evening at a family-friendly celebrationtext or prefer to party hard, here are the best events on New Year’s Eve in the Flathead Valley:

Waters Edge Winery and Bistro

In Kalispell, Waters Edge Winery and Bistro throws a big New Year’s bash every year. This year’s Y2K-themed party is sure to be memorable. It features an impressive gourmet grazing table and a thrilling murder mystery to solve before midnight! DJ Neon will supply nostalgic beats all night, so wear your favorite Millennium outfit and party like it’s 1999! General admission tickets are $75.

Whitefish Mountain Resort

Ski lovers will enjoy the New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade and Fireworks at Whitefish Mountain Resort. The resort has been hosting this event for decades, and it is a great option for families with kids. Skiers carrying torches descend the slopes in a dazzling parade. Then, a spectacular fireworks display illuminates the sky while reflecting off the bright white snow and delighting spectators as they count down to the new year.

101 Central in Whitefish

For a retro 1970s-inspired party, check out the New Year’s Eve Disco Party on the second floor of 101 Central. There will be a best-dressed contest, balloon drop, and DJ spinning all the best hits of the era, while neon lights, disco balls, and aerial dancers adorn the venue. Tickets are $100 for general admission and $300 for VIP access with an open bar and appetizers.

NYE with Defunk and Amp Live

Get lost in the rhythm and dance the night away at O’Shaughnessy Performing Arts Studio in Whitefish as they host Defunk and Amp Live for a mind-blowing EDM music party. It’s guaranteed to be one of the most epic Flathead Valley New Year’s Eve events of the year! Attendees must be twenty-one or older, and general admission tickets are $85.

Monk’s Bar in Missoula

Since the 1960s, Monk’s bar has been a cornerstone of Missoula’s underground art and music scene, and their New Year’s Eve Electro Extravaganza is all about appreciating the DJs who make the night unforgettable. There will also be beer pong, corn hole, giant Jenga, and other bar games. The cover charge at the door is just $10.

Brunch and Polar Bear Plunge

If you find yourself nursing a hangover on January 1st, head to Bigfork for brunch at the Sitting Duck and the Flathead Valley’s customary Polar Bear Plunge just outside the restaurant. The Sitting Duck’s hearty brunch will feature bloody marys, mimosas, and hot cocktails to warm you up before heading to the pre-plunge parade. Then it’s time to take a dip in Flathead Lake’s icy waters to begin the year rejuvenated. The Polar Bear Plunge is free for all and family-friendly.
